OKANAGAN COLOURING BOOK ANNOUNCED
About the Book: Have you ever wanted to experience the beauty of the Okanagan in a brand new way? In Beautiful Okanagan, the new colouring book by Okanagan Publishing House, you can do just that. Following the worldwide colouring trend, this new collection offers scenic sights and experiences from around our region. The images from across the valley are in rich and complex patterns perfect for young and old alike!
The book features 48 11x8.5 inch pages in a portrait format. There are 23 diverse scenes from across the length of the Okanagan Valley. These include the Skaha Bluffs, Gellatly Nut Farm, Kelowna Sails, and Sicamous River Tubing. The artist behind the project is Hannah Dueck, a Penticton local. She was inspired by her experience growing up as a creative in our iconic region, sharing the process allowed her to “put to picture so many fond childhood memories!”
Hannah hopes this book can help others reconnect with what they love most about the Okanagan, that “people can be filled with thankfulness and remember what it feels like to do so many of these activities - to taste the fruit, enjoy the heat and snow, and seek out new places they’ve found to explore!” What she likes most about the project is sharing it with family and friends, including her two young daughters.
Important Note: Okanagan Publishing House is a proud supporter of Mamas for Mamas, a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis. Founded in Kelowna, BC, they provide ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. Their mission is to "change the landscape of poverty through innovative approaches to financial barriers faced by struggling families."
